GCNC By-Laws (Relating to Youth Garden Clubs)

 

ARTICLE II:  OBJECTIVES

Number 5: To assist in educating our youth of our State in the areas of garden club

activity.

 

ARTICLE III: MEMBERSHIP

 

Section 8: Youth Garden Clubs shall be non-voting members.

 

ARTICLE IV:  DUES AND FEES

Section 7: A club accepted into membership before November shall pay current dues. A club’s application for membership between November 1 and January 1 shall not be accepted by the District Director of First Vice President unless they have notified the club that dues shall be payable again in March. Clubs accepted into membership after January 1 shall have their dues credited to the following fiscal year.

 

ARTICLE VI:  DUTIES OF OFFICERS

Section 5: The Third Vice President shall serve as Youth Chairman. Each Youth Gardening group shall coordinate their work under her direction. She shall keep records of all Youth Clubs and forward all monies to the State Headquarters Office. She shall attend all District Meetings.

 

ARTICLE XIV: STANDING COMMITTEES

Section 7: Youth gardening activities shall be coordinated by the Third Vice President. Youth Gardeners shall follow the National guidelines as to structure and make up of youth clubs. Each group shall coordinate their work under the direction of the Third Vice President including rating sheets and awards.  The Third Vice President shall keep records of all initiation fees and forward these monies o the State Headquarters Office. In each district a Youth Gardener Chairman shall be appointed by the District Director to work under the direction of the third Vice President. To be eligible for membership, each youth club must be sponsored by a senior club, have a minimum of four members, and hold at least five meetings during the year. An initiation fee of $1.00 shall be paid by the sponsoring club. Funds from this source shall be used exclusively for promoting youth work. The annual dues of each youth club shall be $10.00.
