GCNC Natural disaster Grant

Funds are available for District and Local Garden Clubs for trees and plantings used in restoration projects after North Carolina disasters.

Application Guidelines:

  1. Restoration project is to be sponsored by State, District, or Member Garden Club(s).

  2. Upon review by the Natural Disasters GC of NC, Inc. Committee, District or Member Club(s) may receive up to $2,500.00 per natural disaster project. However, applicants may not receive more than $2,500.00 per disaster within the GC of NC, Inc. fiscal year.

  3. Clean up and restoration will be provided by the garden club applicant and local service organizations unless exceptions are approved by the Natural Disasters GC of NC, Inc. Committee.

  4. Funds provided are for the restoration of trees and plant materials and not for professional landscaping fees.

    The application proposal must be presented in writing/email to GCNC Headquarters using the GCNC Natural Disaster Grant

    Supporting evidence of need must be included, as well as:

      • Nature and severity of disaster

      • Location of area to be restored; please include a photo

      • Proposed restoration plan by garden club/s

      • Estimated itemized costs of your project


    FINAL REPORT
    Within two months of project completion, please submit the following:
    1.    A short one-page report describing the project including photos
    2.    A copy of the final financial report including all income and expenses
    3.    A copy of any publicity
