The Elizabethan Gardens

The Elizabethan Gardens is a 10.5-acre public garden located within Fort Raleigh National Historic Site adjacent to Waterside Theatre nestled near North Carolina's Outer Banks in Manteo, N.C.  The Elizabethan Gardens, Inc. is a subsidiary of the Garden Club of North Carolina, Inc.

Founded and supported by The Garden Club of North Carolina Inc., the gardens are one of the finest examples of the Elizabethan era and noticeably featured in landscape books and calendars. The Elizabethan Gardens is a tribute to the first English colonists in the New World at the site of the original settlement.

The Gardens contain over 500 different species of plants. Featured collections include hydrangeas, camellias, historic herbs and a wide variety of native coastal species.

The gardens are open year-round, seven days a week except certain holidays.
